Seminar
Diversification and Development: The Role of Migration and Knowledge Diffusion
When : Jun 21, 2017 Venue : J1-050, World BankLocation : Washington DC

Event description:

Economic growth relates to the speed through which countries are able to expand into more productive sectors. This seminar looks into several ways at the role of diversification in the process of growth, as well as domestic and international determinants of dynamics in the expansion of countries’ export basket. This involves presenting relevant results drawing from a number of research projects (some of them ongoing work) that look at the role of geographic proximity, migration and the local composition of a country’s export basket as determinants of the emergence of new sectors.
